New Wesley A.M.E Zion Church is led by the dynamic Pastor Norman Solomon. With over 30 years in the ministry, teaching and preaching only scratches the surface of his extensive resume!

 

Pastor Solomon’s humble beginnings go back to the city of Philadelphia, where he and his siblings were raised by their mother, an evangelist of the Gospel. The apple certainly did not fall far from the tree, as after a move to “the other side of the bridge”, Pastor Solomon will begin to make his mark as a minister, preaching at many churches in the tri-state area, a community leader, and even a Camden-based employee! Pastor Solomon works diligently to make a difference, and truly has a heart for the city of Camden.

 

After many years serving as a minister in Camden, in 2006, he received his first pastoral appointment to Faith Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in Mount Holly, where he would serve for over 10 years. In 2018, Pastor Solomon was appointed as the new pastor of New Wesley A.M.E Zion Church, a church that holds a special place in his heart, as it is the same church his wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother were all laid to rest.

 

Since Pastor Solomon’s appointment to New Wesley, the church has flourished and continues to be an active presence in the city of Camden! Pastor Solomon is a man who embodies strength, grace, and humility. He is a pastor who is never “too good” to lend a helping hand, and can often be found working around the church, even during the week! He is a “hands-on” pastor and if you don’t get enough out of Sunday Service, he makes it a priority to teach our Tuesday Night Bible Study himself!

 

He is credited as a mentor and father-figure to many, but is the proud father of 4 children: Christian, Catherine, Candace, and Faith. He has preached in front of thousands, counseled and married hundreds, and continues to fight the good fight & lead New Wesley forward with no signs of slowing down!
